Read to a Dog program at the Park Branch

We are excited about our “Read to a Dog” program, which is starting up in January and will run one Saturday a month through June. Reading aloud to a furry friend and a non judgmental listener boosts confidence and improves reading skills, plus its fun!

Here is some information about the certified therapy dogs that will be here:

Lily is a five year old Labrador retriever. Besides listening to children read, Lily loves to play fetch, take walks, and swim. She lives in Carmel Valley with her owners Cindy and Mike Thatcher.

Maggie is a four year old Samoyed. When not listening to children read, Maggie has pulled a sled in the snow and herded sheep! Maggie lives in Carmel with her owners Patti and Michael Emmett.

We would like to thank the Yellow Brick Road for their generous donation, which is funding this wonderful program.
